"Blurred Identities"

The “Blurred Identities” series is deeply personal and holds a special place in my heart. As an immigrant who has spent my life moving from place to place, the question of identity has always been a central theme for me. It’s something that’s constantly been on my mind, shaping how I see myself and how I relate to the world around me.

During a period of introspection, I reached out to a close friend of mine in Berlin, Shady, a refugee who had moved there after the civil war. His experience mirrored my own—both of us grappling with how our identities were molded by our new surroundings. For us, it was Germany, and we shared a sense of navigating through the integration of our personalities and cultural roots within this new society.

The series reflects that inner feeling—the complexities of belonging, the sense of being torn between two worlds, and the deep connection to a topic that will continue to shape our lives forever. Through abstract images, I aimed to express the intangible nature of this experience—an emotional journey of identity that is constantly evolving and remains ingrained in us.
