"Torritos"

“Torritos” is a brief documentation capturing the subjective perspective of the training of a youth wrestling team. Our fascination arose from the striking contrast between the inherent fragility of these young athletes and the intensity with which they were fighting, mirroring the prowess of fully grown adults.

With only one roll of 16mm film and half a day of shooting with the wrestling team, we had to be very precise with what we shot. Despite these constraints, I hope that we successfully crafted a unique perspective on the subject. The decision to shoot on film added an organic quality to the visuals, enhancing the overall feel of the piece.
